Wire ropes also offer several benefits for lifting such as abrasion resistance, crushing resistance, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, and rotation resistance. 

Why Is It Better Than A Chain? 

Chains hoist lift by pulling the chain through sprockets and moving the chain into a chain holder. A chain can only hoist for loads below 10 tonnes while wire ropes can hoist loads above 10 tonnes too. Wire ropes are more preferable than chains as it is more susceptible to more wear and tear.
